The latest raid on the Bible Society Malaysia (BSM) and seizure of Al-Kitabs meant for Borneo has raised questions over Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak's actual powers and authority. Holding to the 10-point solution promise by Najib to Borneo Christians back in April 2011 and reiterated following the contentious Court of Appeal ruling on the Allah term, Southeast Asia's Anglican Archbishop Bolly Lapok said Thursday's raid by the Selangor Religious Department (Jais) was "treason". He said Jais had shown no respect for Najib's 10-point solution assurance to Christians in Borneo and the federal constitution. "If an action assumes such arrogance that violates the Federal Constitution and pays total disregard to the Prime Minister, is it not treason? "The word 'Allah' is poisoning our fledging inter-religious harmony and fracturing the fabric of our plural society," he said. In April 2011 the Federal Cabinet issued a 10-point solution to address the Bahasa Melayu/Indonesia Bible and other related issues. The document was signed by Najib and was accepted by Borneo Christians as the stamp of authority. Najib further reiterated assurances that the contentious Oct 14 Court of Appeal ruling on the Herald 's use of the Allah term in its Malay publications had no bearing on Christians in Borneo. The Court of Appeal decision over-ruled a December 2009 verdict favouring The Herald. The decision saw raging anti-Christian sentiments including arson against churches in the early days of January 2010. Najib's reassurances post Oct 14 ruling came against widely held views that the "flawed" ruling would not only apply to the contents of the Herald but that Muslim religious authorities "would use the Herald judgment to extend their insidious and strangling tentacles over other aspects of Christian and non- Muslim practices." The Jan 2 raid by Jais appears to have confirmed these fears. Said Lapok: "How Jais had the audacity to do what it did to Bible Society Malaysia which resulted in the arrest of its two officials, seizure of 320 copies of Al-Kitab and 10 copies of 'Bup Kudus' is baffling?" "Islamic authorities do not have the authority in law to enter the premises of non- Muslim religious establishments for inspection, search, or raid. "Respect, honour and abide by the religious freedom that are guaranteed under Federal Constitution and which was agreed to when Sabah and Sarawak joined Malaya to form Malaysia Federation in 1963." Reprimand Jais Meanwhile Sarawak PKR chief Baru Bian, who is also Ba Kelalan assemblyman has called for action against Jais. "If Jais is allowed to escape any consequence for this illegal and brutal action, it will embolden other Islamic authorities to embark similar fanatical orgies of Christian harassment and persecution. "This raid and seizure was a clear breach of the 10-point solution that the PM promised." "What excuse are they going to offer us this time? The Bibles seized, including the Iban Bibles, confirmed to the requirements set out in the point signed by Najib himself. "What justification was there for the raid?" he asked. Baru also expessed his concern about the planned demonstrations tomorrow by Umno Selangor and Muslim groups in the peninsular. "The demo are potentially dangerous and explosive. As Prime Minister, Najib must not allow groups of extremists to harass people who will be performing their religious obligations, as they are entitled under Federal Constitution," he said. | Seventh Annual Jagannath Ratha Yatra In <b>Kuching</b>, Sarawak, East <b>...</b> Posted: 02 Jul 2014 09:30 AM PDT By Vishaka Susevini Devi Dasi Amid Visit Malaysia Year 2014, ISKCON Kuching organized for the seventh consecutive time the Jagannath Ratha Yatra festival in Sarawak Land of Hornbill, East Malaysia on 21 st June 2014. The beautifully decorated chariot and colorful float carrying Lord Jagannath, Baladeva and Subhatra Maharani were pulled by devotees with ecstasy while full force of dancing, singing and chanting the Holy Name of The Lord clouded the whole atmosphere along the routes of the yatra. Hundreds of devotees thronged the city streets across the route amid security right from 5pm in the evening to witness the majestic Ratha Yatra. The procession followed the traditional route which started from Sri Maha Mariamman Temple and halted at Hare Krishna Multipurpose Hall, where a grand mass of fireworks and Lion Dance by the Chinese Association welcomed the glorious deities. They were then seated in the center of the grand stage as the presiding deities. As official declaration of this festival, His Holiness Janananda Goswami Maharaj, YB Senator Dato Dr Loga Bala Mohan Jaganathan @ Loka Bandhu Gauranga Das (Deputy Minister of Federal Territories, Malaysia), His Grace Simheswara Das (General Secretary of ISKCON Malaysia), His Grace Kripa Sindhu Krishna Dasa (Chairman of ISKCON Kuching), Mr. Lo Khere Chiang (Local Councilor) and other leaders from political associations, NGO and other organizations joined hands and officiated this grand event. As a welcoming speech, the Chairman of ISKCON Kuching, Kripa Sindhu Krishna Das welcomed and thanked everyone for participating in this annual Borneo Island Sri Jagannath Ratha Yatra. He also thanked all devotees who were involved tirelessly in organizing and making the event a huge success. He also showed his gratitude to the Malaysian Government for giving freedom to the citizens to practice different religions in the country. Lastly, he wished well and prayed that the Lord of Universe bless everyone with good health and prosperity. In addressing the crowd, the Deputy Minister of Federal Territories YB Senator Dato Dr Loga Bala greeted everyone with well wishes and highlighted the current social problems faced by the youngsters in the country, where all religious bodies should always attempt to involve youths in religious activities to help form the character positively from the beginning which would subsequently help to prevent their involvement in crime activities. This is deemed as very important to the society as the youths today are the future of the nation. His Holiness Janananda Goswami Maharaj in his speech narrated the wonderful pastime of Lord Caitanya Mahaprabhu during Sri Jagannath RathaYatra in Puri. The Lord in golden form is so merciful because by dancing He can wake our Love of God and His tears that spread on everyone is as spray of Krishna Prema on everyone. That is the beauty of this festival of Chariot. More than six hundred people from local communities and sixty visitors from other states in Malaysia and other countries such as England and India joined this festival to be fully absorbed in devotion for the sweet Lord. After the official declaration ceremony, the program for the evening featured variety of performances including 1 Malaysia dance performance by Ministry of Social Development and special performances on the Past Times of Lord Krishna by ISKCON children and youths. This was followed by serving of Prasadam to the huge crowd of people. Prasadam was prepared for 700 guests and various types of pure vegetarian food and sweets were distributed out. One of the most reputed hotel in Kuching, Pullman Kuching is having the Ramadhan Buffet throughout the holy month until 27th July 2014, serving the most traditional delicacies and classic flavours, making it an ideal choice for berbuka puasa.
Introducing the Ramadhan speciality corner, the outdoor counters.
The must have for all the Ramadhan's. Roasted whole lamb. It is roasted in an open fire which you couldnt just get it at any other time. It added on some extra charcoal flavours, the juicy is sealed and the lamb is just nice and tender.
Open fire servings, the satay as well. Try some of these. You might like it.
I had the lamb and the chicken satays.
And something new as well, the fish counters. Pick your own fish it says…
Ranging from Ikan Pari, Ikan Tenggiri, Ikan Cencaru, Ikan Kembong, Ikan Siakap, Ikan Sardine, Bawal hitam & Ketam Bunga
I mean.. pick your own seafood. They do have prawns and crabs as well. A wide range of seafood for your berbuka puasa.
We had 3 types of fish to try. I personally like the kicking flavours of the sardines.
Apart from that, they also have chicken rice for chicken rice lover like me Hello Dinah.
Im a happy girl as long as you feed me chicken rice. Steamed one. Hehehe!
Other counters like the Ramadhan specials - The Kawah counter, Gulai Kawah daging, Gulai Kari Kepala Ikan, Gulai ayam berkentang, sup ekor lembu and others. They will change the menu slightly every week.
Roti John counters
The Oyster omelete and Char Kuey Teow. Yes they are all stationed at the outdoor counters.
As for the indoor counters, there are another few sections for you to feast on their food.
First up is the Appetizer sections.
Opt for The western style appetizer like cold beef slices,
The marinated fish fillet,
Fusion style grilled chicken and meat.
Or ulam sections. The Rojak Kangkung is the special one. Try it.
Apart from that, they served wide varieties of kerabu & Sambals as well.
If you like it hot & spicy like me, i personally recommend the Cincalok and the Tempoyak. Soooo sexy spicy.
Next counter, The Fried Stuff
Fried crabs, Chicken Liver, Chicken heart, Fried Squid.

- Daging Kari dengan keribang

Another specialty, The Sarawak Laksa and Kolo Mee is one that draws the most attention for the Kuchingnites.
We had Laksa for a trial. You judge it. 
If you are still hungry and craving for more, you can always go for the classic international buffet. I dint take much pictures on that because well, its Ramadhan!! 
But i do have my portion shared with jaq . hehehehee! Its irresistible ma..
They say :" A meal is not perfect without a dessert!"
YES YOU ARE RIGHT. And as i mentioned before, and always, Pullman Kuching serves one of the best dessert in town, the hotel industry.
I'm just gonna lure you with all the pretty dessert. Hohohohoho!!
Local dessert like the Malay Kuih is very impressive as well.
And the all-time killer. The chocolate Fondue.

Teehehehehe! And we had quite a few rounds of food. Thank you Pullman Kuching for the always-so-good hospitality. We enjoyed the food, enjoyed the companion.
