44 Kuching paddlers for State Championship – BorneoPost Online ...

KUCHING: Defending champions Kuching have not set any specific target for this year's 53rd Gree Sarawak Table Tennis Championship.

Speaking to The Borneo Post recently, Kuching Division Table Tennis Association (KDTTA) chairman Helena Christine Wee said the players should also not be too pressured when competing in the tournament.

"Although it would be nice to defend the championship, what is important is that the players played well," she explained.

Despite viewing the competition also as exposure for Kuching's paddlers, she recognised that other divisions such as Sibu and Miri are taking it seriously.

The 53rd Gree Sarawak Table Tennis Championship starts this weekend (Dec 14) in Sibu.

Kuching will be sending a contingent of 44 paddlers and 10 officials there with Datuk Yii Chi Hau as chef-de-mission this year.

The team will compete in the Boy's and Girl's Under-8, U-10, U-13, U-15 and U-18 categories.

All the paddlers selected to represent the division had played at the Kuching Age-Group competition last August.
